KeptHere
You remember the words — the wifi password, the order number, the name of the hotel. What you don’t remember is which of four thousand screenshots it was in.
Search your gallery the way you search the web
KeptHere reads the text that is already inside your photos and screenshots and turns it into a searchable index. After that, finding a screenshot takes one word instead of a five-minute scroll.
- Index on the device — recognition runs in the background on your phone, with progress you can watch.
- Full-text search — type “invoice”, “booking”, “IBAN”, and matching images come back ranked by relevance.
- Only text matters — photos without readable text are skipped and never use up your allowance.
- Open, zoom, copy — read the result, copy the text out of the image, or delete the screenshot when it is no longer needed.
- English and Russian recognition and interface.
Why it works without a server
KeptHere does machine-learning text recognition locally. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, no sync and no analytics profile of what you search for — the index lives in the app’s private storage on the device and disappears with the app. Airplane mode changes nothing about how it behaves.
That matters more than it sounds: the images people most want to search are boarding passes, bank confirmations, medical letters and chat screenshots. A convenient search box is not worth handing that library to a stranger’s cloud.
Free tier and Pro
KeptHere is free for the first 300 photos containing text, which covers a normal year of screenshots. KeptHere Pro is a one-time purchase — not a subscription — that removes the cap and lets the whole gallery be indexed. Pay once, keep it.
